Astral Savage, not just a D&D creature anymore

I've kind of given up blogging, as I really don't have the capacity to put my attention to it reliably (as you've noticed).

But I want to write, because it's one of the few ways I have of putting things outside of myself with the ability to look in. I got an IM this evening from a friend I rarely talk to, telling me a mutual friend had died.

I got a URL, http://koin.mem.com/ContentDisplay.aspx?ID=17972346 , which states that he died of renal failure in November. Bryan wasn't a person I knew in a face to face way, but I've known him online since around 2000.

Bryan 'Astral' Savage was always there for me. He helped me through an infinite number of crises, and was one of the best people I've known. He cared for everyone he knew, and always thought about others first.

I just wanted to give my eulogy, even if the audience is full of empty seats.

Astral, wherever you are, you're there triumphantly. And I hope to see you again some time.
